The NRF Index results also reveal that the number of households online fell from 20 million in December to 13.3 million in January. Additionally, US households spent an average of $308 online in December and $228 in January.

  • The ban on Internet tax expires- Congress failed to pass an extension on an Internet tax ban that expires this October. The House passed a two-year extension of the moratorium that did not address the sales tax issue; the measure was blocked in the Senate.
